Upping the Price of “I Do”

February 23, 2009 at 5:17 pm

According to The Wedding Report (www.theweddingreport.com), money spent on ceremony locations has increased 108% from 2007 to 2008.  This is a significant percentage, particularly in the current economic times.

At a time when budgets for other wedding aspects are being cut, is the need for a one of a kind “I do” experience growing stronger?   Are the stresses of limiting a guest list and debating an open bar being replaced by an exclusive nuptial dream in an environment that takes away the stress?

If you are a venue or vendor that provides products or services during a wedding ceremony, this may be a perfect time to re-examine what you offer.   What are the current needs of your couples and how can you best meet their needs effectively and uniquely?  A slight change in your current paradigm may mean the difference in increasing your percentage as well.

The Wedding Summit

Over the years, I have attended numerous industry conferences, organizations, and meetings.  I have enjoyed these trainings, however, many times I found myself forgetting what I had just learned or overwhelmed at how to put into practice the new concepts once I got back to my office.

That’s why, when Frances Marron and I began discussing a workshop, our goal was clear: an experiential learning environment in which attendees not only learn conceptual aspects of running a successful wedding business, but actually put into play the technical skills that many of us are overwhelmed and confused about when we sit down at our desks.

We look forward to this being a one of kind learning experience that is a customized workshop intended to increase your revenue.  I encourage you to visit our website at www.theweddingsummit.com!

Let’s raise a glass!

Pour a glass of the bubbly…because here’s a toast to the first blog!

Thank you to all who have supported and encouraged me to pursue this new endeavor, particularly my incredible husband, Scott.   Many of you know my true passion for weddings and business ideas/concepts in which I am thrilled to now share openly with the industry.

Throughout my years in the wedding industry, I have gained incredible knowledge that I am excited to customize to each business I work with.  Along this journey, I hope to share additional insight on this blog that will be helpful to all.

Please don’t hesitate to email or post questions as I would be delighted to explore your inquiries and provide insight.  Chances are, your not the only one with that question and together, we can develop a realistic and easy to understand resolution.

From my passion to yours…Cheers!
